PURPOSE OF BLOG POST COMMENTS READ COMMENTS

(1) State Senator Raymond Finney owns and operates this blog for the sole purpose of providing a readily available Internet diary-- an online town hall-- for Blount and Sevier County residents to facilitate the exercise of their First Amendment rights to express views on important issues.

(2) With exercise of any right comes responsibility.

(3) This blog is intended to provide citizens the opportunity to:

... Speak up about conditions in our state that need to be improved (SILENCE IS THE ENEMY OF DEMOCRACY AND OUR FORM OF REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT);

... Disseminate information to other citizens about solutions that have worked in other communities and states (POWER, PROGRESS, AND FREEDOM COME THROUGH KNOWLEDGE);

... Offer solutions to problems (TRY TO BECOME PART OF THE SOLUTION, NOT JUST A MESSENGER OF THE PROBLEM); and

... Participate more fully in representative government (THE PEOPLE, NOT POLITICIANS, SHOULD OWN AND PROVIDE DIRECTION OF GOVERNMENT).
